Karen Norton-Smith is one of WCPS’ kindergarten teachers. She has a masters’ degree in education and this school year will be her 17th year of teaching. Most of that time has been spent teaching kindergarten, which is her favorite grade level. Karen enjoys being part of a collaborative team that writes curriculum, meets students’ needs and enjoys teaching. Currently, she is enrolled in a TraumaInformed Teaching certification program because she finds the social and emotional health of children a priority. Karen lives in Catonsville with her husband, 2 boys and 4 cats. She loves nature: especially insects, birds and flowers.
