Abigail Rivera

Why Watershed?

Abigail has extensively studied hands-on methods of immersive learning such as Waldorf and Montessori, and passionately believes in minimal screen time, more free play, and abundant outdoor exploration as keystones of deep and meaningful educational experiences. It is her hope that Watershed serves as a prototype to help shift the current model of public schooling to one that is more integrated, project-based, and holistically geared toward education of the whole child.

Biography:

Abigail brings teaching experience as an ESL and early education professional in Baltimore, South Korea, and France, as well as insight into legal matters from her years as a paralegal. She resides in Catonsville with her husband and four children, the eldest of whom is a rising first grader at Watershed.
